If you like, view the name that you want to call.
Open the Phone Dialer. If the modem is not set up, then the Modem Setup window appears. Set up the modem if necessary.
If the appropriate name is selected, skip to the next step. If not, click the Browse button. The Name Browse window appears. Select the name you want to call and click OK.
Select one of the four phone numbers to dial or select Other and enter the number in the Number to dial box.
For numbers that need to be dialed differently (like dialing a 1 but no area code), click the Options button. The Phone Number Options window appears. Complete the window and click OK.
Use default logic: Uses the default logic to dial the number. Example: The phone field contains 1-858-555-1212. If you are located in the 858 area code, Abacus will dial 555-1212 and not the entire number.
Dial literally: Dials the number exactly as it is entered in any phone number field.
Custom settings: Lets you specify exactly what type of handling you want to use.
If you need to time the call, click the Timer button. Make sure the Timer is setup and time the call. NOTE: The Timer may start automatically when you place a call.
Click the Dial button and your call is placed.
