User Preferences - Queries & Misc Tab

The Queries & Misc tab for user preferences controls query and map service defaults. To open the tab, select File > Setup > User Preferences and select the Queries & Misc tab. Change the settings and click Done or select a different tab on the window to save your changes.

The following describes each setting on the Queries & Misc tab.

Default Queries Section

  • Names, Events, Matters: Sets the default query to be used for names, events and matters. Click a button and select the default query you want to use.

  • Number of queries to show in menu 'Recent': Sets the number of most recently used queries that will display.

  • Number of Names and Matters to pre-load at startup: For AbacusLaw customers with large datasets, speed can be optimized by preloading names and matters. At startup AbacusLaw looks at history and finds the last X matters and names used (where X is the value for this field) and opens these names and matters and associated records in the background so the data is quickly accessible. To disable this feature, enter 0 in the field.
