Deleting Events

To delete a single event

  1. Do one of the following:

    1. From the Calendar, double-click the event and click the Delete button OR right-click the event and click Delete OR highlight the event and click the Delete button for the section OR highlight the event and press the Delete key.

    2. Open the event in the Event window and click the Delete button.

  2. A window appears asking you if you are sure you want to delete the event. Click Yes.

To delete multiple events

NOTE: Closing a matter can also delete all future events for the matter.

From the Calendar:

  1. Press and hold the Ctrl key and click the events you want to delete to highlight them.

  2. Right-click the selection and click Delete OR press the Delete key.

  3. A window appears asking you if you are sure you want to delete the events. Click Yes.

From the Events Browse and Events tab (on the Name and Matter window):

  1. Check the events you want to delete.

  2. Right-click in the grid and click Delete.

  3. A window appears asking you if you are sure you want to delete the events. Click Yes.

From the Event Window:

  1. In the Event window, run a query to select the events you want to delete.

  2. The Where to go? window appears. Click First. The Event window reappears with the query selected and the first match displayed. It's a good idea to press PageDown several times to verify the selected events are really the ones you want to delete.

  3. Select Events > Delete > Delete All in query.

  4. A window appears asking you if you are sure you want to delete all the events found by the query. Click Yes.

To delete recurring or rule-generated events

Delete the original trigger event. Abacus will delete all dependent events.
