Overview of Holidays

Your jurisdiction may recognize holidays different from the standard Federal holidays that Abacus already knows, so you can customize the holidays in Abacus. Also, holidays will change from year to year and will need to be updated periodically.

Abacus lets you set up holidays to assist you in scheduling events. Holidays are simply events that have a What code of "HOLIDAY," so they can be edited just like any other event. Once holidays are set, if you try to schedule an event on a holiday, you will receive a warning message that lets you change the date.

You maintain holidays from the Holidays window. To open the window, select File > Setup > Holidays.
