Overview of Event Alarms

Event alarms generate a pop-up window that alerts the user to the event. Event alarms appear at a preset time (set by the user). Event alarms do not create data; they only notify.

Some special properties of event alarms:

  • Although event alarm settings can stretch across days to sync to other devices (like Outlook and PDAs), Abacus ignores these settings and only shows event alarms on the same day as the event.

  • Events alarms that appear in Abacus with a query will not appear in PDAs.

  • Event alarms are not implemented for things-to-do or events with a blank time.

  • In Outlook, event alarms are called "reminders."
