Overview of the Forms Library

The Forms Library is your repository of blank fillable forms waiting to be filled. It stores and manages a variety of fillable forms, including but not limited to the forms you get from Abacus. It does not manage the final documents that you create by filling forms (other features do this). The Forms Library has many management features to find, sort, organize and create forms, but primarily it’s a way to select a form to fill out for a client or matter.

To open the Forms Library

Open the matter (or name) for which you want to generate a fillable form. Then, do one of the following:

  • Press F8.

  • Click the Forms button on the toolbar.

  • Select File > Setup > Forms Library.

Things to notice

  • The Forms Library has its own toolbar.

  • If you selected a name/matter before you opened the Forms Library, it is listed in the window's title bar, and it is the name/matter whose data will fill selected forms. You can use the Matters toolbar button to change the matter as necessary.

  • Forms are listed in the left pane, which can be listed in the TreeView or BrowseView. When you highlight a form in the TreeView, the form properties appear in the right pane.
